2011, a saturday
Megan and I drove to Venice. Spent the day window shopping along Main and Abbot Kinney. Had tacos at Holy Guacamole, and tea and cakes at Jin Patisserie. Bought some neat bracelets (each sale pays a Kenyan teacher’s salary for a day – couldn’t NOT buy one!) and some tea and a hot pink Le Pen. It was almost 80° and so gorgeous; I was reminded of why I love LA so much! Home for a brief rest, then back out West for Lost Moon Radio‘s Autism Speaks benefit performance with the Blue Movjave and Tales of the Extraordinary. The show was great, and LMR did my two favorite bits – Michael Wells’ song ‘Mama You’re My Girl’ and Lauren Flans’ rap ‘Lost in Austen’.
2010, a friday
arrived in lyttleton, the port near christchurch. went jet boating on the waimakariri river and it was AWESOME! the water was so shallow and we went sooo fast! lots of 360°s too! it was nice and warm and we got tea and cookies afterwards. got back to the ship for a very late lunch, then went to the medical center to have my leg checked out again – got some prescription antihistamines for a secondary reaction. dinner at the savoy, which dad skipped due to an upset stomach, then saw the comedy show.
