2011, a thursday
Up at 5:30. On the road at 6:40. Promptly ran into terrible traffic from an accident on I-70. Spent 30 minutes traveling 2 miles. Was 40 minutes late for orientation. Ate a delicious ham, green apple, spinach and brie panini from the student center. Met with my advisor, got some good advice, walked around campus and baked in the ridiculous heat, then almost got to my car when I noticed I had an email from some professors in the Astronomy and Planetary Science department, so I turned around and walked all the way back to meet with them. More good info, drive back to Aurora, more traffic (wtf?), laid around and gasped for air after all of the walking and the heat and the altitude and the traffic-induced neck ache. Watched some ‘Doctor Who’, listening to the new Friendly Fires, have awesome plans to sleep as long as possible tomorrow.
2010, a wednesday
worked out, class, homework, luxury suite seats for the dodger’s game! got to meet elaine’s friends mike and tammy after hearing about them for so long, and we celebrated their birthdays with sparkler candles and cake from the dessert cart (which was very harry potter-esque as elaine’s boss pointed out!). also had a lot of caramel apple and am now feeling extremely sick. blehhh.
