2012, a monday

Up early to do some homework I suddenly remembered at about 1am. Dropped off hiking shoes and cold weather gear at my locker in the geology building, then dove into Monday: 9 hours of class! 5 hours on the side of a mountain, doing field geology, physically miserable but intellectually stimulated. Home, food (chickpea casserole mmmmm), tea, chocolates, more crack yogurt.

2011, a sunday

Up bizarrely early. Still on Illinois time, I guess. Went to Trader Joe’s, went to Meghan and Josh’s for lunch (circus waffles!). Hit the mall on the way back to avoid the horrible traffic on the 5, and got an insane deal at the Gap – there are 50% off sales at every store, and I got a really awesome sweater for only $5! Home, cooked some things, put on my new sweater, fiddled some more with my Isle of Tune, ate a lot of chocolate cake, played Smurfs’ Village all night, and watched some ‘Doctor Who’.

2010, a saturday

worked out, finally checked out the mercantile (and loved it), did some errands, dropped off my car in burbank and elaine gave me a ride back to my place. packed all afternoon, shocked to find everything except the snacks fits in my medium-sized suitcase. so shocked, i rechecked the packing list 3 times to make sure i wasn’t forgetting anything. eating a quick clean-out-the-fridge dinner, then hanging out until megan drives me to the airport. then – new zealand!
