september 19 is 'talk like a pirate day'. now, we know that pirates are key players in flying spaghetti monsterism (aka 'pastafarianism'), so if you've been touched by His noodly appendage, you might want to pay special attention to this holiday. some pirate delights:

Speak like a Pirate Day was a hit at work on Monday. They were skeptical at first, but then their participation included a pirate flag drawing by the cartoonist and Andy made up a joke:
Q: What did the pirates do when they purchased too many Q-tips at Sam's Club?
A: Swabbed the deck

there is a radio station in la (106.7 kroq) that celebrates the pirate day by having pirate-only themes - lots of bad pirate jokes and bad pirate accents
