Colophon
After seeing a lot of good implementations of vertical navigation, I decided to redesign Hyperbolation with a vintage journal feel. This new design directly evolved from the previous design which was inspired by Cameron Moll's how-to series, "That Wicked Worn Look." I also decided to write a PHP script and use graphics for the dates on the index; this is my favorite part of the redesign.
The flowered pattern to the left is from a handmade envelope purchased at the Renegade Craft Fair.
Thanks to Eric and all the talented designers and artists I know - your work pushes me to be more visually interesting!
Specifications
This version of Hyperbolation was created using Adobe Photoshop CS, jEdit 4.2, Movable Type 3.2 and resources from Adobe Studio Exchange. I use a 2 GHz G5 iMac and a 1.5 GHz G4 Powerbook.
The Hyperbolation logo is set in Texas Hero. The graphical text and navigation are set in Avenir. The numerical dates are set in Stencil Standard.
This site has been designed and coded in the hopes of cross-browser compatibility, but I have not tested it in browsers such as Opera and Konqueror. Anyone who uses Internet Explorer should seriously consider using a different browser - not because this site will display improperly, but because it's a pretty crap browser. Sorry IE fans. Get Firefox.
Hyperbolation is hosted by DreamHost.
