september 9
Posted in 5 year journal, movies on September 9th at 10:02pm – comment2009, a wednesday
got up early to meet terry to see the cheap showing of ‘all about steve’. i know i know! the movie made no sense. good message, poor execution, at least bradley cooper didn’t play a jerk again. we got some korean bbq and i got my new zealand guide book. we went back to terry’s for awhile to kill some time (i took a little nap) then drove to westwood village for the ‘whiteout’ premiere. first we got really terrible seats - second row from the front, all the way to the left. we managed to score seats in the balcony just before it started though, so huzzah! i had a hard time evaluating the movie though, since i’d read the graphic novel on which it was based.
beard papa makes time fly
Posted in movies, this is what happened today on May 20th at 10:00pm – commentlast night i went with elaine to the warner bros. employee screening of ‘terminator salvation’ at the chinese theatre. the movie was pretty good despite having to sit in the third row, but i knew that getting out of the parking garage was going to be a nightmare. my solution? after i parted ways with elaine i made a bee line for beard papa’s at the hollywood & highland center. i carefully balanced my eclair cream puff as i paid for parking and rode the crowded escalators, and ate it while i sat in my car inching forward in the long line snaking up the garage ramps. it was glorious, and every time someone would walk past i’d be caught in the act of taking a big, messy, creamy, oozy, melted-chocolate-everywhere bite and i totally didn’t care. go ahead and stare, citizens! bet you wish YOU’D thought of this before you came all the way down to your car! the time in the line flew by. this will be my modus operandi for crowded parking garage exits from here on out.

i know a famous movie star
Posted in movies, this is what happened today on October 3rd at 10:47pm – commenti would like everyone to know there is only one reason i gave my money to ‘an american carol’s opening weekend box office, and it’s that morgan was in it, and it marked his feature film debut. we took up a whole row in the theatre and every time he appeared on screen we went wild, to the extent that according to andrew, the couple sitting in front of him whispered to each other, “did we miss something?” anyway the movie was, i think, 83 minutes and it felt like three hours. do not see it.
this entry was mentioned on the la metblog!
