Today was the first day we got to sleep in a bit. We then followed the Buller River up to Marlborough. It was another beautiful day, and our special day too – the anniversary of the day Mom and Dad picked me up at the airport.

We stopped at Highfield Estates winery for lunch. The food was delicious and we had a view of the valley with endless rows of grapevines and moutains in the distance. We bought a bottle of riesling for the cruise and then headed into Blenheim to check in at our hotel room, which turned out to be a little one bedroom apartment, fully furnished and turned out.

We drove to Montana Brancott winery and after a very good tour and tasting, we stopped and got groceries to make dinner and I picked up some itch cream for the insect bites I got in Milford, which were not showing any signs of getting better. We spent a relaxing evening eating roast chicken sandwiches and watching New Zealand movies.
