a fantastic article wherein the author imagines things from a kid’s point of view. includes: a conversation at the grownup table as imagined at the kids’ table, a day at unicef headquarters as i (the author) imagined it in third grade, and how college kids imagine the us government – present day and in the 60’s.

looking for christina aguilera’s performance of it’s a man’s man’s man’s world from the grammys led to this video of her singing when she was 12 on MMC to this video and then THIS video (among others) of ryan gosling singing on MMC. i’m at a loss. i guess this is what i get for not having cable when i was little.
if you don’t know why this weirds me out, then either you’ve seen MMC or you haven’t seen the believer or the notebook or half nelson. also, omg – keri russell.
please please someone get this for me. maybe you can go in on it with some of my other friends. i will make you delicious cupcakes and bring them to you IN THIS VERY DEVICE if you get me this. pleeeeaaaase!

Momofuku Ando, Instant Ramen Inventor, Dead at 96
…After seeing people standing in line at a black-market food stall, he formed a strong conviction that “a life without enough food to eat is no life at all.” He believed an instant noodle product would help feed people after World War II. Chicken Ramen was the first flavor produced by his company Nissin Food Products Co., but other flavors and products quickly followed, including the ever-ubiquitous Cup Noodle.
i will think of mr. ando every time i enjoy some ramen, and doubly so during the holy month of ramenadan.
