this weekend my aunt is in town for her birthday which is tomorrow. so tonight i went out to my cousin’s house in oak park and we had a birthday dinner and opened presents and stuff. ah, relaxing to get away from all the work-related drama, although of course the first question everyone asked is ‘how’s work?’ anyway, kjirsten is getting so big! she’s teething and makes the cutest high-pitched squeal ever. chris is applying to schools to get his teaching certificate and lisa is tutoring kids when she’s not taking care of kjirsten. brad is freelancing – started up his own company! – so now he works from home with his new G5 and can keep an eye on the baby too. aunt linnea is keeping busy it seems and had some great pics of my parents from their visit a couple of weekends ago. dad is actually smiling!! ….wha?

eric is in san francisco chilling with bocci and grover, and i guess tumlin and janet came up to visit too, so it’s a regular class of 2001 reunion out there. bocci had a date with robot girl (it’s a long story) i hear, so i hope it went okay. kate is going out to sf this coming weekend. i’m so jealous! i’ve never been to california, although hopefully i can scrape together the funds to see meghan in la for her birthday as planned.

how can the weekend be over already? ugh. tomorrow after work: either spinning, power step, or cardio box. mmm….i have some wicked bruises on my ass from the spinning bike as it is. maybe cardio box instead.

uh, thought i’d better update with something other than my baby panda obsession. lately i’ve been building a new website in css – got to do some fun javascript menus too, plus the movable type-driven News section. other than that nothing exciting has been happening really. halloween is coming up and on saturday my new couch will be delivered! i guess buying the couch is really the only piece of news.

how about a recap of things past? ok? ok!

stupid dvds are taking SO LONG to burn. like an hour each including verification. ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH. i want to go to pizza!!! mmm….bourbon balls….ahhhhhhhhhh

happy birthday eric! tonight we eat delicious cake and salmon (well, i won’t be eating the salmon) and cookies and falafil (maybe)! ah, 24 years old – next year is the big quarter-century mark!

saw ‘anything else’ tonight, the new woody allen film with jason biggs and christina ricci. it was…awesome. the most impressive part was that jason biggs played the woody allen character SO WELL. eerie. also it made me feel better about myself, because there is no way i am as out there as christina ricci’s character. i mean, i could ‘self-actualize’ by taking all of the aforementioned pharmaceutical aids, but even then i’d have a ways to go.

ok, i have been reminded yet again that I-80 across iowa is THE WORST. thank god that’s over. congrats to adam and jen on their wedding and rockin’ reception! also that cake was so damn good.

thanks to grandma for all the peanut butter cup cookies and to mom and dad for steak and keeping my waterbed heated up for me. 🙂

the weekend sure went fast.

this 3-day long head ache better be due to something other than the fact that i spend at least 8 hours a day staring at a computer monitor. if that is the reason, i am basically screwed here.

today is my birthday. i am 22. i am at work. this would be bad except that so far i’m doing some html/css which is my favorite. i hear homemade lasagna is in the forecast for tonight, plus maybe some csi?

a shout out to my fellow september birthdays – mike, adam, riana, ben folds, harry connick jr, fiona apple, sofia loren, roxann dawson, walter koenig, rosalind chao, madeline kahn, baz luhrmann, etc etc

it is not allowed to rain on national holidays where you get a day off of work to supposedly go to the beach and have a cookout and maybe swim and drink a lot of corona and eat too much chips and salsa. but it is.

what do i want for my birthday (sept 4)? well, i’m glad you asked. in an effort to keep my family from complaining and to get my parents to buy stuff i want instead of just giving me money and telling me to buy it myself (THAT IS NOT A REAL PRESENT IT IS JUST ME SPENDING MY OWN MONEY), i created an amazon.com wishlist. enjoy. don’t give me that look, by now it should be abundantly clear what a nerd i am. just look at what tv shows i picked.
