i forgot – tuesday a ton of terrible things happened

• electrical storms knock out all of our web service’s customers except for us. until they fix all of those, then we have no outside net access.
• jon’s computer freezes, erasing his work. a lot of work.
• in an effort to figure out the internet problem, jeff asks ozzie to disconnect from the network. ozzie does so and as soon as he pulls out the cable he realizes that he hadn’t saved this huge flash file he had been working on for the past 5 hours and loses it all.
• with posting deadlines approaching, and still no outsite net access save jeff’s slow slow slow dial-up, eric goes home to do some stuff there. on the way out of the office he slips down the back stairs, bruising his arm, leg and back. our landlord, whose name i will leave out, is just asking for a lawsuit with those stupid stairs.
• eric, feeling crappy after falling down the stairs, wants to take a shower to clean off and try to make a fresh start of the day. his toilet overflows.

walking to the el it wasn’t raining. when i got on the el it wasn’t raining. when i got off the el it was pouring and i had 5 blocks to walk in my white tshirt and no umbrella because it’s still packed and i can’t find it. i hope i dry off before the client meeting.

the shoot was AMAZING! it went so well, kate and i actually experienced afterglow. ok, maybe it wasn’t that good, but we finished on schedule and even squeezed in some extra shots. we stayed on the jib the entire day too. we shot with a canon xl1 with a 35mm film adapter. meaning, we used 35mm lenses to shoot miniDV. the footage looks really good too. on wednesday, in preparation for the shoot, the guys had to go get manicures. mike hated it, i think andrew enjoyed it and i have a feeling that jon secretly enjoyed it. actually, jon was the only one that didn’t get gouged when the woman trimmed their cuticles.

today is my six month birthday! yay! but today only 4 people are in the office. jon, kate, muon, and me. all alone. sad. but tonight is the sex toys party at the house and it should be fun. woo hoo! um…yeah. i can’t think of anything else to say, sooo…..

rush is finally over. oh thank god. so here i am, a week later and behind in all my classes. i’ve been averaging about 4.5 hours of sleep a night, and last night i only got 2. i stayed up til 5am to work on my wire sculpture for (appropriately enough) my sculpture class, then i think my prof hated it, while he liked all the crappy ones. i feel this is going to be a bad quarter. hmm. plus there’s that whole editing abby’s film thing and my other art class which requires insane amounts of out of class work. i’m so fucked.

the only redeeming part of my day? i’m at work right now – ahhh work, how i’ve missed you so. also, ahhh my tibook, how i’ve missed you so. says kate: “this place is a loony bin.” word. or something. isn’t it great when i try to be hip and it never ever works. glutton for punishment – that’s me.
