my poetry performance was ok. whatever. it’s over. wednesday at work i almost got my eye with a sheath of papers as i was bending over to get something out of my bag. that’s for you, andrew. 🙂

andrew’s birthday party was cool – some interesting drunken brawling and beer pouring.

we went to chili’s after work on thursday and gorged ourselves on yummy food. and also margaritas. then thursday night i completed my text exercise for compositing. friday right after class i went home for an ortho appointment and my mom’s birthday. we went to the texas roadhouse for some of the best ribs ever.

tonight is a new ‘alias’ for the first time in a long time…and i won’t be here to enjoy it. 🙁 but i will be eating at moody’s with eric, mike, kate, and meghan then seeing ‘identity!’ i hope it’s scary!!

please please please look at this. oh sweet jesus.

i managed to piss the whole weekend away, hanging out with my friends. which really isn’t a waste at all, it’s just not as productive as working on compositing or my poetry performance which is TODAY for chrissake. crap. i have to leave work early to go buy some wonder bread at osco. don’t ask. i just want it to be over.

easter was video games and….video games….and talking about video games…

also there was really good food. we ate lunch and dinner together so that was a good time. also trivial pursuit. mike, kate, grover, and i versus eric. we beat him. just barely. this is what it takes to make an even match against this guy.

yesterday eric and mike and i hit giordano’s for the half-off pizza. eric waited for me at searle for like half an hour! what a guy. also he was all stylin’ in his green cords and black turtleneck sweater. yow! 🙂 at dinner: take 2 (take 1 being chapter dinner) we talked about really uplifting things, like how the economy is going to fail and we’re all going to be screwed and nanomachines are going to take over the world and infest our bodies and either kill us all or create heaven on earth. you know, a lighthearted evening.

when i got home from the pizza bonanza i worked on my poetry performance, which is to say i put on the costume and recited the poem a few times and that was it. the way i figure it, i can’t be any worse than some of the people that have already gone. well, ok i COULD, but that’s just too horrible to think about.

the shoot was AMAZING! it went so well, kate and i actually experienced afterglow. ok, maybe it wasn’t that good, but we finished on schedule and even squeezed in some extra shots. we stayed on the jib the entire day too. we shot with a canon xl1 with a 35mm film adapter. meaning, we used 35mm lenses to shoot miniDV. the footage looks really good too. on wednesday, in preparation for the shoot, the guys had to go get manicures. mike hated it, i think andrew enjoyed it and i have a feeling that jon secretly enjoyed it. actually, jon was the only one that didn’t get gouged when the woman trimmed their cuticles.

this morning i got up early and went to the post office to pick up the package that josh sent to me (really, himself) that’s a gift for (shh!) meghan. who i hope isn’t reading this before he gives it to her. that would be really shitty of me. but probably she doesn’t read this very often, and definately not while her boyfriend is in town for one week only.

then i went to class, met with my anal/perf professor about my poetry performance, participated in a comm studies experiment (2 credits down, 4 to go!), went to work, got kyle’s digital camera, met with the commercials dp, updated the production book, caught a ride with andrew (blessed andrew with his automotive genius) to campus for compositing, was totally lost in class because my computer kept freezing and i had to keep rebooting, then stayed in the kdms lab until 11pm working on color keying for friday’s assignment. whew!

if you couldn’t tell, the first couple weeks of class have been really busy. my schedule is going to kick my ass. good news: anal/perf is going well and everyone seemed to really like my personal narrative performance.

today kate, mike, eric, kyle, and i went to see the ‘cowboy bebop’ movie. it was way better than i thought it would be! it was really cool. what wasn’t cool were the heaters that were right in front of us so it was like sitting in a sauna for a couple of hours. a tightly packed sauna. afterwards we went to an irish pub nearby for something cold to drink so we could rehydrate after the heater incident. also we ate ‘potato logs.’

last night we went to glow, a club on clybourn. free drinks between 11 & 12. super.

now i’m just sort tired and lazy feeling. maybe i’ll take a nap. hm. i’ve been having really weird vivid dreams lately.

i just had this weak epiphany that i don’t need to sign my posts. because i’m pretty sure you all know who is writing these. so no more name stuff! i’m also thinking that my next version of this site will be a pretty straight weblog and not so much personalized – and by that i mean there will be no names or ‘about’ section…but i’ll still talk about my day since that’s all i can think of. also…does anyone besides eric and probably brian and on the outside chance, meghan, actually read this? hmm. whatever. i guess it doesn’t really matter. i know it’s here.

my schedule sucks. it could be worse, but only if i never had meal breaks ever. i’m so exhausted and it’s only wednesday night. and i haven’t even started compositing yet. i hauled my ass all the way up to searle this morning at 9 to target p/n a class but then found out that i can’t and even if i could, searle isn’t the place to do it. i was so pissed. but i did my personal narrative performance in anal/perf today and that was fine. i don’t really remember anything i said, so we’ll see tomorrow at the critique how people thought i did. then tonight was the anal/perf performance hour and it was AMAZING! people are so talented!

whew! first day of class and i’m exhausted and it’s only…well, i guess it’s midnight, but whatever. i was up at annenberg for ipc 20 minutes early this morning, then got let out early so i went to norris and bought my books then went to the printmaking lab to pick up my tablets and portfolio from last quarter (got an a! made the dean’s list!). then i went to the house and read half a chapter for ipc. went to parkes for anal/perf (analysis & perfomance of literature for you non-nu people) then ran home for lunch. then went to work where i had multiple meetings about look & feel and the commercial shoot. went from there to the house for chapter dinner and chapter, left early to haul ass up to francis fucking searle for my internship seminar. then came home and glutted myself on veggies and triscuit. a lot of veggies and triscuit. a lot.

sleepy. i guess i’m not going to get more reading done.

this weekend was great! i played the piano whenever i wasn’t sleeping or eating or at a family function which was…well, not as often as i would’ve liked. but i practiced some chopin and managed to keep my mom up all night on friday. the baby shower was super too – we went to this cute little antique place and had tea. two kinds of tea (yummy) and lots of good food including the best scones i’ve ever had. my mom made some great enchiladas too and i got the leftovers (of course). i also bought fresh produce for the first time in months.

tonight the plan was to go to 1800 club, but then i looked at my class schedule (first day of my last quarter tomorrow!) and realized i have to be up at annenberg at 10am. ick. very ick. plus i still haven’t heard where my internship seminar is being held tomorrow night. yeargh. back to reality.

today i go home for the weekend! dad’s picking me up in about half an hour. then it’s good food and my piano all weekend. good thing i’m going home because so far this weekend looks pretty crappy weather-wise. it’s all gray and rainy and humid and gross. but that cold humidity, not warm. so you just feel sort of clammy all over.

meghan and i watched ‘liberty heights’ last night and it was really great. i highly recommend it. although it was a bit longer than either of us expected. but adrien brody and ben foster were really great.

last night meghan, eric, mike, and i went downtown to the green mill to see kurt elling play. ok, we didn’t really see much of him, but we could hear plenty. it was super! meghan and i got there later on and had to wait in line outside for a little while, which was sort of annoying, mostly because we could see eric and mike through the window and i had never noticed a line there before. but i guess that’s because usually i get there around 8 instead of 9:30. anyway, the show was great. afterwards eric, meghan and i went to steak ‘n shake and i indulged in my ritual plate of cheese fries. mmm.

today i have to take a couple of dvds back to blockbuster, redigitize all my media on avid 4 since it all got dumped yesterday as part of spring break cleaning at louis. in preparation i have already thrown two books in my bag and i’ll probably pick up lunch on the way there too. then i have to figure out what’s going on with this weekend. my cousin’s baby shower is on saturday, and i’m supposed to be catching a ride to the qca with her and her mom. but i haven’t heard anything from them so i’m a little uncertain as to what the deal is. i’m going to call my cousin later on today i think. then tonight meghan and i need to watch ‘liberty heights’ after we hit eac.

ugh. step one. put the computer away and go brush my teeth.
